Bird Wars

Ok Ron raised me from my Eagle to his Loorikeets….I’ll go a step further….another feathered friend (although I have no idea what kind of bird this is).   Yesterday I took my nephew Tanner to the zoo.  I have not been able to go there as usual w/ everything going on.  Can you believe it was December 29th and 59 degrees…a heat wave for here in Nebraska at this time of year.  As Tanner and I walked through the jungle, this beauty landed not far from where we were walking…loved his details and his eyes!

Christmas Present

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!  We just got back from North Platte today and had a wonderful weekend at the lake.  Remember how last year on Christmas Eve a hawk landed on my deck?  Well this year I had a bigger surprise, a bald eagle landed in my in laws tree.  OMGosh was I excited.  I have photographed an eagle at the zoo, but never in the wild.  Look how he kept his eyes on me…I think he thought I was dinner!  In the next few days I will be sharing a few of my shoots with you!  This was my biggest and best Christmas surprise!  🙂

My new niece gives us a whole lot to be happy about!  Even though she wasn’t very pleased with this picture taking thing, we were full of smiles posing her and making her Christmasy…look at that expression “Can we get this over with??”
