Express Yourself

Today I have been running around doing errands and some Christmas shopping.   For some reason that always makes me tired and ready for some relaxing….tonight I will be hitting the bubbly with my feet up and Christmas carols softly playing in the background.  I am ready for my mellow mood to hit (right after dinner)!  🙂

The View From Here

We recently had our very first snowfall (which is really late for our area).    This is the view from my front window….every time I see this guy I smile, he looks like he is directing traffic!

You Hold the Key

The Picture the Holidays question of the day is what helps you to slow down, take a deep breath and enjoy the moment?   As much as I hate to admit it, the key to soothing the holiday hustle and bustle for me is CHOCOLATE.  For some reason, chocolate always puts me in a good mood and allows me to continue on with my day!  🙂

My Christmas wish to you is that you all experience the reason for the season in your hearts while surrounded by loved ones.

Reframing the Season

•December 2, 2011 • 11 Comments

Every year I tell myself I am going to get all my Christmas shopping and decorating done early so that I can enjoy the season, and every year I am still shopping on Christmas Eve.  This year I am reframing the season to be sure to enjoy special moments marveling at the beauty of Christmas and family.  Here’s hoping that you too can enjoy all the simple pleasures of this holiday season!

Holding on to Gratitude

•December 1, 2011 • 9 Comments

I thought I would finish off the month a little different.  I joined Tracey Clark and PaperCoterie’s Picture the Holiday class.  Every day she emails us a theme and we come up with a picture.  Today’s theme is Holding on to Gratitude…there is so much to be thankful for, but I think what I am most thankful for is my family and home.  My family fills my home with support, laughter and love.  They warm my heart and home on these cold winter days!

Morning Routine

This guy has made a morning routine out of teasing my dogs and then stealing the bird’s food…you have to admit…he is kinda cute!

The Letter G

G is for Grieving.   About a month ago my in laws found a dead blue heron in the lake near their dock.  Since then this blue heron shows up daily and sits on the dock as if waiting for the other blue heron to come back.  It is so sad to watch.  We looked up blue herons on the internet and some sites say they mate for life…it makes me sad seeing this heron grieving the loss of his loved one.  Usually the herons migrate this time of year, but this one seems to be sticking around.  I sure hope he makes it through our cold winter!
