Reframing the Season

Every year I tell myself I am going to get all my Christmas shopping and decorating done early so that I can enjoy the season, and every year I am still shopping on Christmas Eve.  This year I am reframing the season to be sure to enjoy special moments marveling at the beauty of Christmas and family.  Here’s hoping that you too can enjoy all the simple pleasures of this holiday season!

  1. Love the way you framed the ornament and the light burst. Those special times with family and friends are forever framed in our memories.

  2. So beautiful!

  3. That’s thinking outside the box!

  4. Love that light flare!!!

  5. Love the photo–even more the commentary. When my son was little, he simply couldn’t bear the stimulation that came with holidays. He’d just melt down, and he ruined one after another for us–until we scaled them back so he could handle them. then we learned that all the holiday are better if we don’t pressure ourselves to achieve artificial standards, but just take them from the root of what they are. In the case of Christmas: the miraculous birth of an infant in a stable and all that’s meant to us since then.

  6. I try to subscribe to the KISS principle, ie Keep It Simple Stupid!
    Love your reframing of Christmas.

  8. Lovely shot and a great idea….if only!….SIGH

  9. An inspirational photo and thoughts!

  10. a great composed photo and I think many of us knows the feeling you write about. To much pressure around in this time of year instead of just enjoying the simple things we find around us every day. Do it your way so you feel best instead of having all those must do’s

  11. Wonderful sentiment! Amen!
