167. Ordinary

The Black Billed Magpie is an ordinary sight in Rocky Mountain National Park.  This is a highly intelligent bird which is capable of mimicing dogs, cats, and even people.  He is sitting on an old mail/message box….I guess the park rangers need to get mail and messages too!  🙂

  1. The smoothness of the bird and texture of the box, sure works well.

  2. What a beautiful bird Tammy, and a great shot of it!

  3. I love magpies and I love this shot, looks like he is ready to snatch something.

  4. I do like these birds, great shot!

  5. Far from ordinary shot, though!

  6. Rocky Mountain National Park is right in our backyard!

  7. If he is that smart he has to be related to the crow, or vice versa. Heckle and Jeckle were talking magpies, and those birds were brilliant!

  8. This magpie looks like he is all dressed up in a tuxedo…maybe he’s checking the mailbox for his invitation. Great capture!

  9. Love the textures and bokeh highlighting the magpie.

  10. I’ve been trying to get a shot of a magpie since the start of this challenge, so well done, and great image!
